दुबईइंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (IPL) के 2021 सत्र के प्लेऑफ के लिए जोर लगा रही पंजाब किंग्स (Punjab Kings) को बड़ा झटका लगा है। उसके विस्फोटक कैरेबियाई बल्लेबाज क्रिस गेल (Chris Gayle) ने बीच मझदार में लीग छोड़ने का फैसला किया है। क्रिस गेल ने बायो बबल थकान की वजह से यूएई में जारी टूर्नामेंट के बीच में अलग होने फैसला किया है। पंजाब किंग्स ने बयान में कहा, 'क्रिस गेल बबल थकान के कारण आईपीएल बायो-बबल छोड़ रहे हैं। सीपीएल और फिर आईपीएल का हिस्सा होने के बाद उन्होंने यूएई और ओमान में होने वाले टी-20 वर्ल्ड कप के लिए मानसिक रूप से खुद को तरोताजा करने की इच्छा व्यक्त की। वह टूर्नामेंट में अपनी इंटरनैशनल टीम वेस्टइंडीज के लिए खेलेंगे। पंजाब किंग्स शुक्रवार को कोलकाता नाइटराइडर्स के खिलाफ खेलेगी। इस तरह वह प्लेइंग इलेवन का हिस्सा नहीं होंगे। केएल राहुल की पंजाब टीम के लिए प्लेऑफ की दौड़ में बने रहने के मकसद से यह ‘करो या मरो’ का मुकाबला होगा। राहुल ने मुंबई इंडियंस के हाथों मिली हार के बाद स्वीकार किया कि दबाव में उनकी टीम अच्छा नहीं खेल पा रही और उन्हें प्रदर्शन में सुधार करना होगा। गेल ने अपने बयान में कहा- पिछले कुछ महीनों में मैं CWI बबल, CPL बबल और उसके बाद IPL बबल का हिस्सा रहा हूं। मैं मानसिक रूप से रिचार्ज और खुद को तरोताजा करना चाहता हूं। मैं T20 विश्व कप में वेस्टइंडीज की मदद करने पर फिर से ध्यान देना चाहता हूं। उन्होंने साथ ही कहा, 'मुझे मौका देने के लिए पंजाब किंग्स को धन्यवाद। मेरी शुभकामनाएं और उम्मीदें हमेशा टीम के साथ हैं। अगले मैचों के लिए शुभकामनाएं।' 42 वर्षीय गेल ने आईपीएल 2021 के यूएई चरण में खेले गए दो मैचों में से 15 रन बनाए हैं, जिसमें वह सेंट किट्स एंड नेविस पैट्रियट्स के साथ सीपीएल 2021 जीतने के बाद सीधे शामिल हुए थे। कुल मिलाकर गेल ने इस सीजन में 10 मैचों में 46 के सर्वश्रेष्ठ सीजन के साथ 193 रन बनाए। रोचक बात यह है कि हाल ही में उन्हें उनके बर्थडे पर पंजाब टीम में शामिल नहीं किया गया था। इससे फैंस को हैरानी हुई थी।

What's important is you don't give excuses and that's what we have done. The boys have taken responsibility when it comes to batting, bowling and fitness. The players and support staff deserve the credit. The bounce of wicket was very different, something that should come to knee height was coming to shin height. So the batsmen adjusted to hitting it straight. The bowlers did well with their variations. As a bowling unit, they bowled the right length. I did work before the tournament to make sure I could run and I love doing it, don't want to miss the catches, love doing the donkey work of running from long-on to long-off. The balance of our team has been very good this year. We've been batting aggressively and we bat long so there are batters coming out even if we lose wickets. With the ball Moeen has been a good addition as well. We've got Jadeja who bowls in the middle. But it's the balance of the side that has been crucial.

IPL 2021 Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap Latest Table Today: CSK qualify for play-offs with win over SRH
Rutaraj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis hit quickfire runs Thursday to see Chennai Super Kings to a six-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad and become the first side into the Indian Premier League playoffs.
The hard hitting openers put on 75 for the first wicket as Chennai reached 139 for four with two balls to spare after Hyderabad were restricted to 134 for seven.
Gaikwad hit 45 off 38 balls and South African veteran du Plessis 41 from 36 balls to set the three-time champions on the road to the key victory.
Captain MS Dhoni hit a six to complete the win in Sharjah.
Hyderabad were put in to bat and immediately suffered with Jason Roy going for two and captain Kane Williamson for 11.
Wriddhiman Saha's 44 off 46 balls kept the innings alive but once he was caught by Dhoni off master spinner Ravindra Jadeja, Hyderabad slowed and never looked likely to set a target to seriously challenge Chennai.
Chennai now lead the eight-team table with 18 points from 11 games, two ahead of Delhi Capitals, and are guaranteed a place in the four playoff spots.
Dhoni said it had been crucial to reach the last four for the 11th time in 12 years after the team was criticised for failing to qualify in 2020.
"Last time, we said we wanted to come back strong. We are known for that and there was a lot at stake," said Dhoni.
"You won't always win games and a lot didn't go our way last time, and it's important not to make excuses and we have done that this year," he added.

शारजाहजोश हेजलवुड और ड्वेन ब्रावो की घातक गेंदबाजी तथा महेंद्र सिंह धोनी के विजयी छक्के से चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स (CSK) ने बुधवार को सनराइजर्स हैदराबाद (SRH) को छह विकेट से हराकर इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (आईपीएल) 2021 के प्लेऑफ में जगह बनायी। सनराइजर्स की टीम पहले बल्लेबाजी के लिए आमंत्रित किए जाने के बाद शारजाह की धीमी पिच पर सात विकेट पर 134 रन ही बना पायी। चेन्नई ने 19.4 ओवर में चार विकेट पर 139 रन बनाकर 11 मैच में नौवीं जीत दर्ज करके अपने अंकों की संख्या 18 पर पहुंचायी। इसके उलट सनराइजर्स की यह नौवीं हार से प्लेऑफ की दौड़ से बाहर हो गया है। वह आखिरी स्थान पर बना हुआ है। 2020 सीजन में धोनी की कप्तानी वाली टीम प्लेऑफ में पहुंच नहीं सकी थी। उसके बाद उसने इस सीजन में जोरदार कमबैक किया और प्लेऑफ में पहुंचने वाली पहली टीम बनने का तमगा हासिल किया। दूसरी ओर, उतार-चढ़ाव से भरी हैदराबाद का सफर अब IPL के इस सीजन में खत्म हो गया है। उसकी यह 11 मैचों में 9वीं हार है। अगर वह 3 बचे हुए मैच जीत भी लेती है तो उसके 10 पॉइंट्स ही होंगे। इसे में उसका किसी भी एंगल से प्लेऑफ में पहुंचना असंभव है। इस तरह वह 3 मैचों में सम्मान बचाने के लिए खेलगी। चेन्नई की जीत की नींव गेंदबाजों ने रखी। हेजलवुड ने 24 रन देकर तीन विकेट लिए जो आईपीएल में उनका सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन है। ब्रावो ने 17 रन देकर दो विकेट हासिल किए। सनराइजर्स की तरफ से ऋद्धिमान साहा ने सर्वाधिक 44 रन बनाए लेकिन इसके लिए उन्होंने 46 गेंदें खेली। चेन्नई के बल्लेबाजों ने गेंदबाजों के प्रयास को अच्छी तरह से मुकाम पर पहुंचाया। रुतुराज गायकवाड़ (38 गेंदों पर 45) और फाफ डु प्लेसिस (36 गेंदों पर 41) ने पहले विकेट के लिए 75 रन जोड़कर टीम को अच्छी शुरुआत दिलायी। अंबाती रायुडू 17 रन बनाकर नाबाद रहे जबकि धोनी (11 गेंदों पर नाबाद 14) ने अपने चिर परिचित अंदाज में विजयी छक्का लगाया। चेन्नई इस सत्र में प्लेऑफ में पहुंचने वाली पहली टीम है। उसने 12 आईपीएल में 11वीं बार प्लेऑफ में प्रवेश किया। सनराइजर्स की तरह चेन्नई ने भी धीमी शुरुआत की लेकिन उसने विकेट नहीं गंवाए। पहले तीन ओवर के बाद स्कोर 12 रन था। भुवनेश्वर कुमार के पारी के चौथे ओवर में गायकवाड़ और डु प्लेसिस दोनों ने छक्के लगाए। डु प्लेसिस ने होल्डर पर दो चौके जबकि गायकवाड़ ने राशिद का स्वागत चौके और छक्के से किया। उन्हें इसी ओवर में पगबाधा आउट दे दिया गया था लेकिन डीआरएस के सहारे वह क्रीज पर टिके रहे। पावरप्ले तक स्कोर 47 रन था। इसके बाद सिद्धार्थ कौल गेंदबाजी के लिए आए तो डु प्लेसिस ने उन पर छक्का और चौका लगाया। यह साझेदारी 11वें ओवर में जेसन होल्डर (27 रन देकर तीन) ने गायकवाड़ को मिड ऑफ पर कैच कराकर तोड़ी। उन्होंने अपनी पारी में चार चौके और दो छक्के लगाए। चेन्नई ने मोईन अली (17) के रूप में अपना दूसरा विकेट गंवाया जिन्हें राशिद खान ने बोल्ड किया। होल्डर ने सुरेश रैना (दो) और डु प्लेसिस को आउट करके मैच में कुछ रोमांच भर दिया। धोनी का जेसन रॉय ने मुश्किल कैच छोड़ा लेकिन रायुडू ने कौल पर चौका और भुवनेश्वर पर छक्का जड़कर चेन्नई को संकट में नहीं पड़ने दिया। चेन्नई को अंतिम दो ओवर में 16 रन चाहिए थे। भुवनेश्वर 19वां ओवर करने आए लेकिन उन्होंने इसमें 13 रन लुटा दिए। धोनी ने कौल की गेंद छह रन के लिए भेजकर अपने प्रशंसकों को मदहोश कर दिया। इससे पहले सनराइजर्स शुरू में बैकफुट पर पहुंच गया था। उसने पहले दो ओवर में पांच रन बनाए और हेजलवुड ने फिर सलामी बल्लेबाज जेसन रॉय (दो) को पवेलियन भेज दिया। साहा ने दीपक चाहर के पारी के तीसरे ओवर में दो छक्के लगाए जिससे सनराइजर्स पावरप्ले में एक विकेट पर 41 रन तक पहुंचा लेकिन इसके तुरंत बाद उसने कप्तान केन विलियमसन (11) का विकेट गंवा दिया जिन्हें ब्रावो ने पगबाधा आउट किया। साहा जब 29 रन पर थे तब उन्होंने पॉइंट पर आसान कैच दे दिया था लेकिन शार्दुल ठाकुर (37 रन देकर एक) की यह गेंद नोबॉल निकल गयी। स्कोर हालांकि कछुआ चाल से आगे बढ़ रहा था और 10 ओवर में केवल 63 रन बने थे, जिसके बाद ब्रावो ने प्रियम गर्ग (सात) का संघर्ष समाप्त किया। साहा ने जब धोनी को आसान कैच थमाया तो रविंद्र जडेजा (तीन ओवर में 14 रन देकर एक) ने नोबॉल नहीं की थी। छठे ओवर के बाद 13वें ओवर 48 गेंद के बाद कोई बाउंड्री लगी। अब्दुल समद (18) ने ठाकुर पर चौका लगाने के बाद हेजलवुड पर छक्का भी लगाया। अभिषेक शर्मा (18) ने भी हेजलवुड के अगले ओवर में छक्का लगाया लेकिन इस आस्ट्रेलियाई तेज गेंदबाज ने इन दोनों बल्लेबाजों को तीन गेंद के अंदर पवेलियन की राह दिखा दी। होल्डर (पांच) के आउट होने के बाद राशिद खान (13 गेंद पर नाबाद 17) ने डेथ ओवरों में कुछ रन जुटाए।

RR's batting has been far too inconsistent. Their bowling against SRH was also not up to the mark. Team will look to improve in both departments.

Glenn Maxwell hit his second successive half-century to fire Royal Challengers Bangalore to a convincing seven-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League in Dubai on Wednesday.
The Australian batting all-rounder made an unbeaten 50 off 30 deliveries as Bangalore chased down their victory target of 150 in 17.1 overs in the Twenty20 tournament.
Bowlers set up the team's second straight win with paceman Harshal Patel taking three wickets and spinners Shahbaz Ahmed and Yuzvendra Chahal claiming two each to restrict Rajasthan to 149-9.
Virat Kohli's Bangalore stay third in the eight-team table, led by Chennai Super Kings, and eye a strong league finish in their bid for a maiden title.
Kohli, who hit 25, and Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 22, started briskly for the opening wicket to lay the foundation for the chase.
Srikar Bharat (44) and Maxwell put on a third-wicket stand of 69 to take the attack to the opposition bowlers despite Bangladesh left-arm quick Mustafizur Rahman striking twice.
Bharat fell short of his fifty but Maxwell, who made a match-winning 56 in the previous game, completed his 50 with two straight boundaries.
Earlier, Royals collapsed from a comfortable 100-1 in 11 overs to 117-5 with debutant left-arm quick George Garton sending back Evin Lewis for 56 and Ahmed striking twice in his first over.
Chahal also struck twice to return impressive figures of 2-18 from his four overs of leg spin and was named man of the match.
Patel, who got a hat-trick in his team's previous win, rattled the middle and lower order and struck on successive deliveries.
Royals, winners of the inaugural edition in 2008, are seventh in the table.

मुंबईभारत के बाएं हाथ के कलाई के स्पिनर कुलदीप यादव की बुधवार को घुटने की सर्जरी हुई, उन्हें यूएई में मौजूदा इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग के दौरान घुटने में चोट लगी थी। कुलदीप ने अपने आधिकारिक ट्विटर पेज पर लिखा, ‘ऑपरेशन सफल रहा और उबरने की प्रक्रिया शुरू हो चुकी है। समर्थन के लिए सभी का धन्यवाद। अब ध्यान रिहैबिलिटेशन अच्छी तरह से पूरा करने पर है और फिर मैदान पर वापसी करते हुए जल्द से जल्द वह करना है जो करना मुझे पसंद है।’ पीटीआई ने 27 सितंबर को अपनी खबर में बताया था कि कुलदीप को घुटने की गंभीर चोट लगी है और उनके आगामी घरेलू सत्र के अधिकांश हिस्से से बाहर रहने की संभावना है। साथ ही वह यूएई से स्वदेश वापस लौट चुके हैं। आईपीएल में कोलकाता नाइटराइडर्स की ओर से खेलने वाले कुलदीप भारतीय टीम से बाहर चल रहे हैं और प्रतिस्पर्धी क्रिकेट में वापसी से पहले उन्हें लंबी रिहैबिलिटेशन प्रक्रिया से गुजरना होगा। भारतीय क्रिकेट बोर्ड (बीसीसीआई) के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने खुलासा किया था, ‘हां, हमें सूचना मिली है कि यूएई में अभ्यास सत्र के दौरान कुलदीप को घुटने में गंभीर चोट लगी है। संभवत: क्षेत्ररक्षण के दौरान उसका घुटना मुड़ गया और उस समय चोट गंभीर थी। कोई संभावना नहीं थी कि वह आईपीएल में आगे हिस्सा ले पाएगा और इसलिए उसे भारत वापस भेज दिया गया।’ कानपुर के कुलदीप ने भारत के लिए सात टेस्ट, 65 एकदिवसीय और 23 टी20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुकाबलों में कुल 174 विकेट चटकाए हैं। वह भारत के लिए पिछली बार श्रीलंका दौरे पर खेले थे। उन्होंने एकदिवसीय मैच में 48 रन देकर दो जबकि टी20 मैच में 30 रन देकर दो विकेट चटकाए। उन्होंने एक वनडे और एक टी20 और खेला लेकिन इनमें उन्हें कोई विकेट नहीं मिला।

नई दिल्ली साल 1987 की बात है। भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम फ्लाइट में थी। रवि शास्त्री ने की ओर अखबार बढ़ाते हुए कहा- 'हे, शैरी (सिद्धू का निकनेम)- देखो तुम्हारे लिए अखबार में कुछ लिखा है।' हेडिंग पढ़कर सिद्धू की आंखें भर आईं। जेहन में उसी बड़े पत्रकार का लिखे एक पुराने आर्टिकल की हेडिंग तैरने लगी। और उसके बाद सामने आज की तस्वीर। सिद्धू अपनी उस मेहनत को याद करने लगे जो उन्होंने यहां तक पहुंचने के लिए लगाई । मैदान पर बहा पसीना और कई बार खून भी। यह सब यादों के पिटारे से बाहर आने लगा। लेकिन, इन सबके बीच एक टीस भी थी। टीस कि उनके पिता यह सब देखने के लिए नहीं थे। पिता, जिनका सपना था कि उनका बेटा एक कामयाब क्रिकेटर बने। सिद्धू उस आर्टिकल की कीमत पहचान गए। उन्होंने उसे अपने घर के ड्राइंग रूम में फ्रेम करवाकर टांग लिया। नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू ने सुनाया किस्सायह किस्सा नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू ने खुद सुनाया था। वह आर्टिकल की हेडिंग थी- फ्रॉम ए स्ट्रोकेलेस वंडर टू ए पाल्म ग्रूव हीटर। मशहूर खेल पत्रकार राजन बाला ने ही चार साल पहले साल 1983 में सिद्धू के लिए लिखा था- नवजोत सिंह सिद्ध- द स्ट्रोकलेस वंडर। सिद्धू ने अपना पहला टेस्ट मैच साल 1983 में वेस्टइंडीज के खिलाफ खेला था। वे लगातार 2 मैचों में फ्लॉप रहे जिसके बाद उन्हें टीम से बाहर कर दिया गया था। सिद्धू की बैटिंग को देखकर माना गया कि वह नई गेंद नहीं खेल सकते। सिद्धू ने उस वर्ल्ड कप में 10 छक्के लगाएइस बीच सिद्धू के पिता का निधन हो गया। वह सिद्धू को कामयाब क्रिकेटर बनते नहीं देख पाए। हालांकि सिद्धू ने ठान लिया कि वह अब कामयाब होकर रहेंगे। उन्होंने खूब मेहनत की और 1987 के वर्ल्ड कप टीम में जगह बनाई। यहां उन्होंने लगातार पांच अर्धशतक लगाकर तब का रेकॉर्ड बनाया। सिद्धू ने उस वर्ल्ड कप में 10 छक्के लगाए। पिता जी को ऐसे कराते थे भ्रमसिद्धू बताते थे जब उनके पिता उन्हें प्रैक्टिस के लिए भेजते तो वह मैदान पर जाने के बजाय दोस्तों के साथ घूमने चले जाते। पिता के पास आते समय वह कपड़ों पर पानी छिड़क लेते थे ताकि पसीने का भ्रम हो सके। पहले शांत रहते थे नवजोति सिंह सिद्धूसिद्धू जो कॉमेंट्री और टीवी पर अपनी हाजिर जवाबी और कई बार बड़बोलेपन की वजह से चर्चा में रहते हैं, वह कभी बेहद शांत हुआ करते थे। चुपचाप रहने वाले। कपिल शर्मा शो में उनकी पत्नी नवजोत कौर ने ही बताया था कि वह उनकी सहेलियों के आने पर बाथरूम में घुस जाया करते। शर्माना सिद्धू का स्वभाव था। पर उस शर्मीले, चुप रहने वाले सिद्धू कैसे अपनी जुबां की कलाकारी दिखाने लगे यह उन्हें जानने वालों को हैरान करता है। फील्ड में गए विवादों से नाताहालांकि सिद्धू जिस भी फील्ड में गए विवादों से उनका नाता रहा। क्रिकेट की दुनिया में 1999 के इंग्लैंड दौरे पर अजहरुद्दीन के साथ लड़ाई के बाद वह भारत लौट आए। कप्तान अजहर को इस बात का पता ही नहीं था सिद्धू वापस चले गए हैं। इसके बाद वह कभी टीम का हिस्सा नहीं बने। फील्डिंग से सिद्धू को 'कोफ्त' होती थी। हालांकि उन्होंने इस पर मेहनत की और 'जोंटी सिद्धू' बने। जेफ्री बॉयकॉट के साथ उनका विवादसिद्धू इसके बाद टीवी कॉमेंट्री में पहुंचे। यहां इंग्लैंड के मशहूर बल्लेबाज जेफ्री बॉयकॉट के साथ उनका विवाद काफी चर्चित रहा। जब उन्होंने बॉयकॉट की उम्र को लेकर कॉमेंट किया। सिद्धू हालांकि इसे इंग्लिश कॉमेंट्री में 'गोरों' की दबंगई के खिलाफ अपना स्टैंड मानते रहे। सिद्धू एक बार ऑन एयर अपशब्द बोलने के आरोप में कॉमेंट्री पैनल से हटा दिए गए। राजनीति का रुखइसके बाद उन्होंने राजनीति का रुख किया। यहां भी उनका बड़बोलापन उनके खिलाफ गया। बीजेपी के टिकट पर अमृतसर से सांसद रहे। हालांकि जब पार्टी ने उस सीट से पूर्व वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली को उतारने का फैसला किया तो सिद्धू ने बगावती रुख अपनाया। नतीजा, पार्टी से बाहर का रास्ता। इसके बाद उनकी कशमकश जारी रही। आप के जाएं साथ या कांग्रेस का थामें हाथ। गेंद पर आगे बढ़कर खेलने का उनका अंदाजसिद्धू ने आखिर कांग्रेस में एंट्री की। और उनके आते ही पंजाब कांग्रेस में खलबली मची। पाकिस्तान जाकर वहां के सेनाध्यक्ष जनरल कमर बाजवा के गले लगने को लेकर सिद्धू की खूब आलोचना हुई। वह राजनीति को क्रिकेट समझने की भूल कर बैठे। हर गेंद पर आगे बढ़कर खेलने का उनका अंदाज यहां नहीं चला। वह क्रिकेट की उस सीख को भूल गए कि कुछ गेंदों को छोड़ना भी चाहिए। तभी नजरें जमती हैं। सिद्धू ऐसा नहीं कर पाए। उन्हें लगा कि फ्रंटफुट पर खेलना काम आएगा। उन्होंने कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह के खिलाफ ही मोर्चा खोल दिया। कप्तान से उनकी क्रिकेट में भी नहीं बनी थी और राजनीति में भी। सिद्धू का मास्टर स्ट्रोक है या वह मिस हिट कर गएअनबन के चलते अमरिंदर ने मुख्यमंत्री पद से इस्तीफा दिया। और आज मंगलवार को जब कांग्रेस दो नए नेताओं के स्वागत की तैयारियों में थी, सिद्धू ने पंजाब कांग्रेस के पद से त्यागपत्र देकर अलग विवाद पैदा कर दिया। सिद्धू की फितरत के कई रंग रहे हैं। खामोश सिद्धू से बातूनी सिद्धू, स्ट्रोकलेस वंडर से सिक्सर सिंह सिद्धू, फील्डिंग में बचने वाले सिद्धू से जोंटी सिद्धू तक। राजनीति में एक पार्टी की तारीफ करने वाले से लेकर उसे गरियाने तक। सिद्धू ने अपने शब्दकोश से कभी किसी की तारीफ की और कभी उसी को लपेट लिया। शब्द वही रहे लेकिन किरदार बदल गए। हालांकि यह सिद्धू का मास्टर स्ट्रोक है या वह मिस हिट कर गए हैं यह तो वक्त ही बताएगा। सिद्धू के ही अंदाज में कहें तो ओ गुरु, पानी में जितनी भी कोशिश कर लो मिलता नहीं तेल और राजनीति की पिच पर कहीं सिद्धू तो नहीं हो गए फेल... हां, इसमें ताली ठोकने की बात नहीं है...

IPL इतिहास में पहली बार एक ही टाइम पर होंगे दो मैच, जानें क्यों BCCI ने किया यह फैसला
दुबई, 28 सितंबर (भाषा) इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (आईपीएल) की संचालन समिति ने मंगलवार को फैसला किया कि लीग चरण के आखिरी दो मैच एक ही समय पर शाम साढ़े सात बजे (भारतीय समयानुसार) शुरू होंगे। आम तौर पर डबल हेडर (एक दिन में दो मैच) का एक मुकाबला दोपहर बाद और दूसरा शाम को खेला जाता है।
अब तक के नियमों के मुताबिक दोपहर का मैच भारतीय समयानुसार दोपहर बाद 3:30 बजे शुरू होता है जबकि दूसरा मुकाबला शाम साढ़े सात बजे से खेला जाता है। किसी भी टीम के अनुचित लाभ को रोकने के लिए दोनों मैच शाम में एक साथ खेले जाऐंगे।
बीसीसीआई सचिव जय शाह ने एक विज्ञप्ति में कहा, ‘‘आईपीएल के इतिहास में पहली बार ‘वीवो आईपीएल 2021’ प्लेऑफ से पहले के आखिरी दो लीग मैच एक साथ खेले जाएंगे।’’
कार्यक्रम के मुताबिक अंतिम दो मैचों में से एक में सनराइजर्स हैदराबाद का सामना मुंबई इंडियन्स और दूसरे में रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बेंगलोर का मुकाबला दिल्ली कैपिटल्स से है।
उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘ मैजूदा सत्र के लीग चरण के आखिरी दिन (08.10.2021) एक दोपहर का मैच और एक शाम का मैच होने के बजाय, दोनों मैच एक साथ शाम साढ़े सात बजे (भारतीय समयानुसार) से खेले जाएंगे। ’’
आईपीएल में शामिल होने वाली दो नयी टीमों की घोषणा 25 अक्टूबर को होगी जिसके बाद 2023 से 2027 सत्र के लिए मीडिया अधिकार की निविदा जारी की जाएगी।
यह समझा जाता है कि मौजूदा अधिकार धारक स्टार स्पोर्ट्स के साथ हाल ही में विलय करने वाले ‘सोनी’ और ‘जी’ भी बड़ी रकम के साथ बोली लगायेंगे।

- मुंबई ने हार्दिक पंड्या के 30 गेंदों पर चार चौके और दो छक्के की मदद से नाबाद 40 रन की पारी के दम पर 19 ओवर में चार विकेट पर 137 रन बनाकर मैच जीता।
- इस जीत के साथ मुंबई के 11 मैचों में 10 अंक हो गए और टीम सातवें से पांचवें पायदान पर पहुंच गई और प्लेऑफ में पहुंचने की उसकी उम्मीदें भी बढ़ गई।
- दूसरी ओर, केएल राहुल की कप्तानी वाली पंजाब किंग्स के लिए 11वें मैच में यह सातवीं हार है और टीम तालिका में छठे से सातवें स्थान पर खिसक गई।
